Makena Ray
President
Makena is a third-year Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration major from Costa Mesa, CA. She first got into line dancing during her freshman year at the fall club rush. The people at the booth were putting on a show and invited her to go to workshop. She went for the first time with her good friend and she hasn't looked back since. From day one in her experience with the club, the people have been nothing but welcoming and excited to help her learn and grow in dancing. They have gone the extra length to get to know her as a person too. Outside of dancing, Makena loves to bake. She loves to nourish the people she loves.

Kristin Smoots
Kristin is a third-year Civil Engineering major. She is from Mercer Island, WA. She has been dancing since she was three and was captain of her high school's drill team. She wanted to find a way to continue dancing in college, so she tried line dancing for the first time during SLO-days. She had a blast! Kristin instantly knew she wanted to join CLDC. When she isn't on the dance floor, she likes to sing, play video games, go hiking, and wake foiling.

Sheri Hamrell
Club Advisor
Sheri works in the Agribusiness Department in the college of CAFES. She has been working at Cal Poly for 4 years. Her family moved to San Luis Obispo from Orange County, where she worked at CSULB and Disneyland for nearly 10 years. She has a BA in Theater Arts with a concentration in Production and Design from Cal Poly Pomona. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and two puppies, cooking, crafting, watching reality TV, and going wine tasting with friends. She learned how to line dance when she was in high school, frequenting In Cahoots in Fullerton, CA. She's a little rusty, but can't wait to dust off her boots and get out on the dance floor again!
